“Join the Crew” - Community Engagement/Community Development

Being leaders who are always interacting with residents, there can never be enough ideas for potential programs and events in the upcoming year. These programs will introduce innovative ideas for small and large scale events that you can host in the next year for your community.

“All of the Fish in the Sea” - Social Justice/Diversity/Inclusion

Similar as to the thousands of species of fish in the sea, we are all different in our own ways–our background, upbringing, ethnicity, culture, personality, physical appearance. As a leader in our community, it will be crucial to be inclusive of all of these identities and narratives to develop a community that is comfortable and accepting. These programs will also spread ideas about how you can incorporate education on social justice issues.  

 

All Aboard the LeaderSHIP” - Leadership

These programs will not just be about helping you become a leader in your own communities but also realizing that you are already a leader. As individuals involved in Residential Life, we need to be the best leaders for our residents and encourage them day by day to become better leaders as well.

 

“All Hands on Deck” - Community Service

One of NRHH’s tenets is service, so the programs under this category will be centered on how you as an individual can engage in community service or a group can proactively work together in bettering a community. It is also important to emphasize the difference between one-day service and sustainable service where we can observe long term change for the generations to come.

 

“Seas-tainability” - Sustainability

PACURH 2018 RLC hosted by UCLA has declared a zero-waste initiative, one of the first conferences to do so. In assisting us chairs with spreading sustainability, these programs will share ideas and ways for your school to promote sustainability and progress on the pathway of being zero waste institutions as well.

 

“Health and ‘Whale’ness” - Health and Wellness

As high achievers in school, it is often that we find ourselves compromising our mental, physical, and emotional health for other priorities. Programs under this category will assist you in living more healthily and happily not just temporarily but for life.

 

“Expanding Your Horizons” - Career/Professional Development/Networking

In your undergraduate years and beyond, you will meet so many people; therefore, it is important to keep in mind tips on how to maintain strong relationships and network. We are all working towards achieving our professional career goals, and these programs will expose you to those who are experienced and want to help you in reaching that dream occupation.

 

 

Please fill out the above form if you are interested in presenting a program at PACURH 2018 RLC. The deadline is October 24, 2018 by 11:59 pm if you are submitting a proposal. As per PACURH policy, there is a requirement of 1 program submission per 5 delegates that your school sends to the conference, with a minimum submission requirement of 1 submission per delegation.
